We are looking for a R&D Senior Specialist for an immediate start to reinforce our R&D team. This is a permanent full-time position based in our office in Kontich, Belgium.
As R&D Senior Specialist, you act as a key player in contributing for the development of Flen Health products, setting up and conducting new research projects on next-gen formulations, performing development activities on new or existing products and proposing/executing pre-clinical tests.
This position would suit you perfectly if you are driven by a desire to improve patients’ health and have the desire to make things happen.
Your responsibilities:
•Promote and develop cutting‑edge research in the treatment of wounds and other dermatological conditions
•Execute and monitor pre-clinical studies (e.g. stability studies and biocompatibility) internal as well as outsourced to third parties
•Support projects done in collaboration with other departments (e.g. regulatory, Quality and marketing) and ensure feasibility and timing of these projects
•Ensure execution, design and development documentation of all new and existing products
•Perform tests on products and raw materials (e.g. physicochemical and microbial)
•Performing on-site lab management
•Follow-up of market and scientific trends related to the specialist expertise
Your qualifications & experience:
•Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
•PhD or equivalent experience in an industry/research environment
•Proven experience in product development within the pharmaceutical or closely related field, preferably with topical products and/or combination products is a must
•Hands on experience of formulation and galenic of semisolids and polymer based semisolids
•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills as well as team mindset
•Knowledge on smart polymeric materials, nanozymes, drug carriers, enzyme encapsulation or other innovative technology for skin wound treatment is considered a strong plus
•Solid understanding of CMC development, regulatory pathways and health authority interactions is an asset
•Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, resource constrained and entrepreneurial environment
•Fluency in English
